Sarah Hornshaw established the Hornshaw Gallery in 2012. Sarah has a wealth of experience in the art world and in particular contemporary art. She combines her knowledge and experience of the art market to provide a platform for emerging artists to show and publicise their work.
Sarah carefully selects all artwork.
Her intention is to support emerging artists particularly during the tentative years of their careers. Sarah’s sister is an artist and she acted as an agent for her and a number of her friends when they graduated. She has expanded on the role and thus created The Hornshaw Gallery.
Sarah’s intention is to bring attention to the work of emerging artists and provide a platform for them to exhibit and publicise their works; nurturing the talents of the future.
Sarah embarked in a career as an artist at Art College but soon realised she would never reach such dazzling heights as an artist. She left and read history at University College London, and then trained as a lawyer.
She was then offered an internship at Christie’s the Auctioneers and never looked back!
Previous work experience has included working at public galleries such as the Wallace Collection, Auction Houses and working as a researcher in private dealerships.
She has a wealth of experience working in the art world over the years. Her intention is to use her experience to help develop the careers of exceptional emerging artists – giving them a platform and helping in the transition from graduate to working artist; and showcasing their work.
