Christopher Mear (b.1990) is a photographer born and based in NW Leicestershire, England.
His work at present is focused on his home; an area that has been heavily affected, both socially and geographically by the demise of Britain's coal mining industry.
In 2013, Snibston Discovery Museum in Leicestershire held a large exhibition of Mear's work entitled 'Disinheriting Histories'.
Christopher Mear's first monograph entitled 'Just Passing By' was published by Snibston in 2014. This also included a six month residency at the museum.
Mear has been the recipient of numerous awards including the Free Range Art Awards in 2010.
